MAKE CLASSES – REGISTERED CLASSES 3-5 yrs Each week, students will read a story and make a project inspired by the illustrations, or artist/ designer on which the book is based. Projects will include but are not limited to painting, drawing, assemblage, collage, sculpture, and craft. 10 weeks of programming allows for some projects to carry over more than one week. allowing us to build larger more complex pieces. Process is the focus, as is exploration and fun.
6-8 yrs Like the 3-5 year old classes, but with a more concentrated focus on a particular artist or style of working. Students will be introduced to a number of different artists; and projects will be based on that artist and their works. Students will experiment with painting, drawing, assemblage, collage, sculpture, and craft.
9-12 yrs Similar to the above, with an increased focus on drawing from life, colour theory – and longer term projects.
DROP IN MAKE – 2-4yrs Parents and children attend a class together. Each class starts with a storybook reading, which will inspire the art making of the day. Children are lead through a class that parents support. Painting, drawing, and collage are the focus, with a different project completed each week.
DROP IN – 5yrs and up. Supplies are provided for a themed project, and parents and children work together with out a formal class. Books for inspiration are provided, as well as support when needed. Projects change on a weekly basis, and all projects are suitable for completion in an hour long class.
SEW+STUFF – Students 7 years and up are introduced to the basics of hand sewing through a number of different projects such as making a stuffed toy. This artist lead workshop is 10 weeks long at 1.25hrs/class. 10 weeks, $240
WRITE – A creative writing class for kids 9 yrs old and up. Read by a writer + Poet, students will explore a range of writing and writing projects and work towards a final project chap book. 10 weeks, $180
PAINT + DRAW -Â a painting and drawing class created for those looking for a focus on improving their skills. Artist led, 10 weeks $200 8 yrs and up.
CRAFT NIGHTS Â -Â Craft Nights for Adults +Teens – a crafty night at the shop with rotating projects lead by artist instructors. Watch the website and blog for upcoming themes, including jewelery making, fashion based crafts, paper mache and more. Cost varies based on the project
COLLAGE NIGHTS – artist lead collage nights at the shop. Join us for an inspiring night at the store hosted by different artists with an array of themes. No experience needed, all supplies provided. Watch the website for upcoming dates. Cost varies based on the collage project.
