MARCH BREAK CRAFTERNOONS! March Break Crafternoons offer a weeks worth of programming for crafters 5-8 and 9-12 years of age. Artist lead camps run from 1-3:15 for one week, allowing campers to explore painting, drawing, crafting, collage, assemblage and more. $180/week March 18 -22 for 5-8yrs and 25-29 for 9-12yrs.
DROP IN CLASSESÂ Drop in classes are offered daily for children 2-4 yrs old, as well as for older kids on Fridays and Saturdays. Drop In classes for 2-4 year olds begin with a story, followed by art making – a process that encourages kids and their parent/caregiver to explore together. $10/class NO REGISTRATION Classes are first come, first serve. Drop In Classes for older students – Come join us for a Painting and Drawing Drop in for ages 5 and up on Friday afternoon, as well as Saturdays Mixed Drop in from 1-2pm. Projects vary from week to week and are based on a book within the store. All materials are provided for a child and adult to collaborate on a 2D project together. $10/class.
REGISTERED CLASSESÂ Collage Collage is thrilled to be launching their Winter Classes for 2013. Classes are small, artist lead and have a focus on creative development and contemporary art. As all classes are artist taught children are encouraged to explore their own ideas, while working around a theme. Ongoing projects allow time for students to create their our outcomes, with classes focused on exploration and process over product -making the final projects completely individual and unique. MAKE – A mixed media class for the younger set. Based on a book from the shop each week, we’ll make a painting/drawing/collage using a number of different materials. For kids 3 yrs and up who can be dropped off for classes. Wednesdays 4-5pm $180
MIXED MAKE – A mixed media class! We’ll explore all kinds of different art making, including assemblage, painting, collage, drawing and more. By looking at different artists, we’ll be inspired to work in a number of different ways to create, explore and make with all kinds of materials and methods. For students 9-12 yrs Tuesdays 4-5:15 $200/10 weeks For 6-8 yrs Thursdays 4-5:00 $180/10weeks
PAINT AND DRAW – Join us for 10 weeks of painting and drawing, colour theory and more. Taught by artist Liz Toohey-Weise, this class will allow students to improve their drawing and painting skills in a fun engaging class! For students 8 yrs old and up Mondays from 4-5:30pm $220/10 weeks
SEW and STUFF – 10 weeks of learning to sew, draft patterns and make something great! Taught by Claire Schagerl who makes the amazing Thistletown Toys carried in the shop, this class will get students sewing, learning basic hand stitches, pattern drafting, embroidery and more. Make a sewing kit, soft toy – classes change each semester. For students 7 yrs old and up. Fridays 5:30-6:45 $240/10 weeks
