Sweet Sarah

As you might already know, our most wonderful Sarah Jane Holtom is moving away. We had such a wonderful Saturday watching her make portraits all afternoon long. You should see her most amazing portrait show at the Black and Yellow Gallery that runs to the end of this month; you might even see a familiar face or two!

Sarah is heading up north to the Yukon for an artist residency and you can follow her adventures here. We’re also collecting some NEW UNUSED art supplies to send up north for the budding artists of Inuvik. More info here- and please just NEW or gently used supplies! Space is limited, so kindly call us before dropping off your donations.

Before she goes, Sarah’s also installed a beautiful collection of drawings at Collage Collage. Come see 100 portraits of Penny through to mid June.

We’re gonna miss you Sarah! What a shining light you’ve been at the shop. Hurry back now.

Mother’s Day at Collage Collage

We have two amazing things happening at the store on May 12th! Come in and make a scrapbook for mom with Wendy Oakman books (3-5pm), or book a portrait session with Sarah Holtom! $30/portrait (2-5pm)

This is special day in the store, as our most amazing Sarah Holtom is moving away, and this weekend will be her last shift in the store before she goes. Sarah is an incredibly talented portrait artist, and we’re thrilled to be able to offer the chance for a portrait session with her, especially on the heels of her sell out show at Black and Yellow gallery this month. Portraits sessions are for one person at $30/15minute session for a portrait made in pencil crayons. Book early to secure a spot!

Book Launch for “Sometimes…” THIS WEEKEND!

You know we carry beautiful books at Collage Collage – but this book might be the cutest one I’ve ever seen. “Sometimes…” is an adorable, self published book by Joanne Cheung. Reminding us all that we want to be different, and that’s ok as long as we remember who we are. Between this book and the Proctor and Gamble video about Moms this week, I’ve been a mess!

Joanne has travelled all the way from Ontario to join us for a launch and reading this weekend at the shop. Sunday 12-2. Come on over and pick up a copy!

We’re so thrilled to finally be hosting our very first SINGALONG! Grab your friends and join us for this FREE event on Sunday April 15th from 2-4pm at the store. We’ll have instruments on site for you to purchase and paint, while Sarah and Sarah Jane sing us a few tunes! See you Sunday!

The Wild Unknown

We love all the goods we get from The Wild Unknown. From the coveted calenders that we carry over Christmas, to the beautiful prints we carry year round, Kim Krans never disappoints us with her products. You can imagine how delighted we were when Kim told us about her book, ABC Dream. It’s a delight to read over and over again, as you can see on this sweet little video from the site. We’ve got lots in stock too, just waiting for you!
