Terrariums!

I’m so excited about a little project that Sarah and I got up to this weekend. We made terrariums! And they’re so great; each one features a succulent plant and an animal friend. Come by and choose one to take home! They won’t last long… $42/each – and there’s one with a bear living over at HeartBreaker Salon!

Sarah, we love you.

Another love bomb on the blog today. For Sarah Holtom! We love Sarah – she is the most wonderful person to work with. She brings an amazing energy to her classes  and she’s one heck of an artist. Recently she went on the road to do some painting, and I can’t wait to see what she’s come up with. Her resume is pretty stellar too, and this lovely post from “The BB Creative” shares Sarah’s awesomeness perfectly. Thanks BB!

Yeah for Sarah! We wouldn’t be the same without you.

nesting doll awesomeness

I just love Nesting Dolls. And I am so thrilled that my talented student (we’ll call her Belle) came in today to make a set. Aren’t they great? $22/kit Come in and paint them here or take em’ home. And Yes! You can purchase them without the box, and yes! 2 year olds can paint just about anything if you’re willing to sit with them and assist with holding these wobbly shapes!

Uncle Shelby’s…for the grown ups.

Opening the store has brought me many surprises, and this book is one of them.

I hadn’t counted on how many of my friends and colleagues would be inspired by the store and the books in it – and proceed to tell me about favorite books of their own.

I brought this book in for my friend Jonathan, who recounted a wonderful story about this rather funny colouring book written by Shel Silverstein for adults only. It’s rather clever, and I love hearing the chuckles when the book is picked up in the store and flipped through.

an AWESOME book to share with you!

It’s turning out to be an awesome day. The sun just finally came out again, and a new book arrived. Not just any book….

Dallas Clayton’s Awesome Book! I love this story, recommended to me by my friend Tammy. It’s a story that encourages kids (big and small) to keep dreaming. I just re-read it myself, and I think my day just got better as a result.

Not only is this book jammed full of wonderful illustrations, and a heartbreakingly terrific message – the folks who make it fund an organization called The Awesome World that promotes children’s literacy world wide. It just keeps getting more awesome.
