Stay tuned for some special wedding season programming at Collage Collage too!

Some of our Favourite Books for Giving (or Keeping!)

The Christmas Countdown is officially on and we’ve been filled with holiday cheer in the shop. Finding inspired gifts during the last-minute rush can be tricky, but we are here to help. Our bookshelves are filled with new and beloved titles for kids and grown-ups alike. Here are some of our favourites you can pick up in the shop, and have gift wrapped on-site!

The Art Coloring Book – Annette Roeder

This engaging colouring book features the extraordinary work of dozens of artists as a crayola playground for budding artists of any age.

This Moose Belongs to Me – Oliver Jeffers

We can’t gush more about Oliver Jeffers; His beautiful books inspire many of our workshops and classes, and we already adore his newest book.

From Mud Huts to Skyscrapers – Christina Paxmann

From the earliest mud huts to today’s soaring towers children are pulled into this journey through the history of architecture.

Extra Yarn – Mac Barnett

A perfect, cozy tale perfected by illustrations by one of our favourites – Jon Klassen (I Want My Hat Back). Great to gift with yarn and knitting needles.

You Are Stardust – Elin Kelsey

This award winning book begins with the idea that we are all born from stars. Grounded in current science, this extraordinary picture book provides opportunities for children to wonder about some big ideas.

Bentlily – Samantha Reynolds

In 2011, Vancouver’s Samantha Reynolds embarked on her Year of Being a Poet. Over 365 days, she documented moments of kindness, tragedy and surprise through writing one poem and recently published this collection featuring her favourites.

And the list goes on…. Drop-in the shop to browse our bookshelves or visit our book section on the Collage Collage online shop. Happy reading this holiday season!

The Swing

Julie Morstad’s “The Swing” has finally arrived at the store. Her illustrations for this Robert Louis Stevenson poem are as beautiful as you can imagine, and served as inspiration for both a 3D Collage in our CRAFTERNOONS camps, as well as last week’s Drop In classes. Thanks for inspiring us once again Julie!

Book Launch for “Sometimes…” THIS WEEKEND!

You know we carry beautiful books at Collage Collage – but this book might be the cutest one I’ve ever seen. “Sometimes…” is an adorable, self published book by Joanne Cheung. Reminding us all that we want to be different, and that’s ok as long as we remember who we are. Between this book and the Proctor and Gamble video about Moms this week, I’ve been a mess!

Joanne has travelled all the way from Ontario to join us for a launch and reading this weekend at the shop. Sunday 12-2. Come on over and pick up a copy!
