New CLASSES! – WRITE with Sheryda Warrener

That’s right!

We’re adding a creative writing class for kids 9yrs and up! Join Sheryda for 10 weeks of writing! Thursdays from 5:30-6:45 $180/10weeks starts September 20th.

Come tinker with poems and stories (real or imagined) to see what makes these incredible forms tick. Prompts such as “My Life So Far (In 200 Words)”, “Nothing to Write Home About” and “What Your Horse is Telling You” will spark the unexpected. Learn key techniques, read examples of great writing, hone your craft, and walk away with a chapbook of your best work & the enthusiasm to keep writing.

Sheryda Warrener likes to write poems about ghosts, astronauts, Iceland, and diving horses, among other things. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing, and has taught children & adults alike in Canada, Sweden and Japan. Her first book of poetry, Hard Feelings, was released by Snare books in Fall 2010.

The Swing

Julie Morstad’s “The Swing” has finally arrived at the store. Her illustrations for this Robert Louis Stevenson poem are as beautiful as you can imagine, and served as inspiration for both a 3D Collage in our CRAFTERNOONS camps, as well as last week’s Drop In classes. Thanks for inspiring us once again Julie!
