The Elegant Cockroach visits!

The Elegant Cockroach is a wonderful book by Deidre Anne Martin with beautiful illustrations by Stefanie Augustine.

Opening Thursday April 21st and running to June 2nd, we’ll have a collection of Stefanie’s works here at the shop for sale. Deidre will be joining us for the reception on April 21st. Please come by and see this most lovely collage based work, and flip through a copy of The Elegant Cockroach published by store favorite, UPPERCASE.

oh my.

We’ve just finished our MAKE Winter Session, and for a grand finale with the 6-8 year olds, we made some bunnies. I am so proud of what we made – complete with pom pom tails and hand stitched faces, and even the occasional felt carrot. All were inspired by “Socks Appeal” by Brenna Maloney

This was so successful, that we’ve added a session for everyone on April 16th from 3-5.

MARCHBREAK CRAFTERNOON round up!

whew! that was fun.

we had a wonderful week together for March Break CRAFTERNOONS! Here are some of the highlights, we made Melancholic Mermaid inspired dioramas and mermaids, Frida Kahlo inspired self portraits, Perro Verlag inspired books, and Brian Wildsmith inspired horses. Awesome work CRAFTERNOONERS!
