Uncle Shelby’s…for the grown ups.

Opening the store has brought me many surprises, and this book is one of them.

I hadn’t counted on how many of my friends and colleagues would be inspired by the store and the books in it – and proceed to tell me about favorite books of their own.

I brought this book in for my friend Jonathan, who recounted a wonderful story about this rather funnyƂ colouring book written by Shel Silverstein for adults only. It’s rather clever, and I love hearing the chuckles when the book is picked up in the store and flipped through.

a little love from lmnop

It was a delight be featured in this beautiful Australian magazine a few months ago – and now they’ve gone and mentioned us on their blog!

Check it out, and then go exploring through their blog and magazine. It’s a beautifully articulated and well edited on line magazine with inspiring and interesting features for any one interested in innovative and creative ideas.

Thanks lmnop! We’re huge fans. And those balloons were so much fun to make, it’s nice to see them around in the cyber world for a little longer.

and soon we’ll be a year old!

it’s been an emotional couple of days around the store – to think that a YEAR AGO I was still unpacking boxes, building shelves, and nervously waiting to open up the doors!

I thought I’d share a few shots of Collage Collage this time last year, days before opening, getting ready to present my little dream to the world. Okay, I’ve got some birthday party planning to do….

Collage Collage is so happy to be carrying books from our friend Jason Mclean. Jason is an old friend and an amazing artist, who makes many drawings, books, and paintings. I’ve collected a few of his books over the years, and they’re my favorite form of art collecting. We shared a studio for a short time a few years ago, though we were never there at the same time; so I could just watch Jason’s work magically transform and evolve each time I came by to work.

I’m so happy to have the books around, they remind me of different works of his over the years, come by and give them a read, you’ll be glad you did.
