I heart Moms. And Crafts.

This Saturday, please come by the store for a drop in class and make something great for your Mom, Aunt, Grandma, Baby sitter, Shop Keeper, whatever lady you’d like to honor on May 8th.

Drop in Class from 1 – 2 pm Saturday May 8th.

You could also go across the street to Toast Collective and see the I Heart Craft Sale happening there from 11-6pm. You might find a hand made gift for you and your mom too!

good news.

coming to work to find your mailbox full of lilacs is good.

I don’t know who’s leaving me these spring beauties, but it’s made my day once more.

Lii Yiiboo Nayaapiwak lii Swer

That’s the title of Julie Flett’s amazing new book of the Michif alphabet.

We had such a wonderful Saturday last week launching this delightful book.

Julie Flett’s “Owls See Clearly at Night” launched at the shop and it was a huge success. I can’t pick what I like more about this beautiful book; the images, the blend of culture and languages, or the fact that it includes 2 of my favorite creatures on this earth; Owls and Buffalos. My last two art shows featured those very same creatures.

You’re going to want a copy of this book, and I’m collecting names for the next shipment as we SOLD ALL of our copies on Saturday afternoon. Yep, it’s that great.

Send me an email and I’ll save one for you when they arrive again.

here’s the last shot from the day – the remains of a few abandoned projects, and one half eaten piece of bannock, (or I should say la Galet as I’ve learned from the book!) which was such a huge hit with everyone. One of my favorite days in the shop to date. Thank you Julie! Thank you friends and guests and everyone who made owl masks…that was a delight.
